Reclaim Our Relationship With The Land
Lone Mountain Natives provides an array of native plants for landscapes. Our land can be enriched by our presence. Personal choices can enhance diversity and health of the land we inhabit. Resource efficient plants combined with landscapes that harvest and retain water and nutrients become the foundation for providing food and shelter for the creatures with which we share this space. Think of it!
After millennia of land degradation and poor choices we can become functional citizens of our planet. Join us as part of this change and reclaim our relationship with the land. Natural Systems vs. Disruption
Industrial scale horticulture and agriculture are putting increased pressure on our soils, waterways, and resources. Current residential landscape practices are putting the same stresses on our environment. These methods are high in the use of plastics, synthetic chemicals, and unsustainable use of water, electricity, and inorganic material. The consequences include; increased soil salinity and soil temperature decreasing moisture and increasing loss of essential biotic components from the soil.
The typical plant bought at a "big box" store has left a huge ecological footprint in its wake. Often more resources are gobbled in the attempt to keep the plant on life support in an ill-suited environment. The status quo of these land practices often results in disturbed soils and plant communities. Natural systems are disrupted, opening the door for invasive species and habitat loss. |
